Honesty first

Disclosures

I'd rather over-disclose than mislead. This page says, in plain language, exactly what these results are, what they are not, the rules I hold myself to, and what I am and am not doing here.

Informational only. Nothing here is legal, tax, or investment advice, and nothing here is an offer or solicitation. It reflects my own posture and understanding. If any of that ever changes, I'll say so plainly.

01

This is not an offer, and I am not registered

Cordamente is my personal trading record. It is not an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to buy, any security or interest in any fund, and nothing here is investment advice or a recommendation.

I am nota registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, commodity pool operator, or commodity trading advisor. Everything here is my own research and opinion, about my own trading, run with my own capital. I am not managing anyone else's money, and I am not asking to.

02

What is a backtest, and what is real

I keep a hard line between the two, and I label everything:

  • Backtests are models, not real money. Most strategy pages show backtested results, simulations I built and ran in QuantConnect to model how a strategy would have behaved. I show them exactly as they ran so you can see how I think and test. Backtests are hypothetical: they have the benefit of hindsight, involve no real execution or financial risk, and can differ sharply from what happens live.
  • The Live Track Record is real. The Live Track Record shows realized returns on my own real capital, net of all commissions, fees, and slippage. It is never mixed with backtests on the same chart.

The rules I hold myself to

Honest performance reporting is a duty that applies to everyone, registered or not. I hold myself to these rules and publish them so I can be held to them:

  • No cherry-picking. I don't select favorable windows, accounts, or trades. Time periods are shown fairly and completely.
  • Every strategy, every month, including losers. I report all tracked strategies each period. I never quietly drop an underperformer or omit a bad month.
  • Append-only, never restated. Once a month is published it is permanent. History only grows; it is never edited or deleted. I enforce this mechanically before each update.
  • Fixed cadence. I publish live results on a set date regardless of outcome. A bad month posted on time matters more to me than a good month posted selectively.
  • Net of fees, in percent. Live returns are net of all costs. I report percentages; I keep the dollar amount private.
  • An auditable record. The underlying data and its full history are version-controlled, so the track record can be independently reconstructed and verified.
04

Futures risk

Some strategies trade futures (including Nasdaq-100 futures). Trading futures involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Commodity trading involves substantial risk of loss. Leverage can work against me as easily as for me. Any futures results shown are proprietary, my own trading, and are not combined with anyone else's.

All trading involves risk of loss, including the total loss of capital. Past performance, including backtested performance, is not necessarily indicative of future results.

05

What I'm doing here, and what I'm not

To be completely clear about my posture:

  • I'm publishing my own results, not managing money. Sharing my own trading record, with no clients and no compensation, is just transparency. I am not soliciting investment, and I do not.
  • Honesty rules already bind me, so they're non-negotiable. That is exactly why the commitments above are written down and public.
  • I follow the futures rules. Showing performance that involves futures carries specific risk-disclosure and proprietary-labeling obligations, which this page and my presentations are designed to meet.
  • This is a transparency exercise about my own trading. That's all it is today. If that ever changes, I'll say so plainly and do it properly, with the right professionals involved.

In short

I show my work, I label what's real and what's a model, I never hide a loss, and I'm not asking anyone for money. This is just me, being transparent about what I'm trading. If you think I've stated anything unclearly or misleadingly, tell me, I want to fix it.
